Bush thickknees are pretty common on the Moreton Bay Islands - there is
a collective on every island you can catch a ferry to ...
For some reason the bay islands are attractive - possibly due to the
large number of vacant semi-cleared blocks which provide attractive
habitat.
Couchie Mudlo Island in particular is a good spot to see the thickknees
hanging around people's yards - I once saw 8 or 9 in one street.
