I'm afraid I can't help you with BM records of BSC, but I know a bit
about the Western Sydney Popn. A friend of mine lived at Freeman's Reach
until recently and he had them regularly on his property. The bonus is
that he is a wildlfe researcher with State Forests, so tried to keep
tabs on the birds. He believed there to be a good population in the
area, and recorded several breeding attempts, though was unsure of their
success. Unfortunately, approval for a Chook farm in this area has just
been given by the local council, this cannot be good for the birds. The
appropriate government body seemed to be reluctant to get involved in
the matter.
The only other recent record I know of for Western Sydney was at the
Orchard Hills RAAF/RAN base, where one responded to playback in 1994
during the Urban Bushland Biodiversity Study.
Hopefully there are more birds in Sun Valley.
