Hi Trevor and Annie

The birds you described are all also present in the wet forests of the Vic
Central Highlands that I frequently visit. I was interested to read that you
saw many Crescent Honeyeaters. I hear many of them in the wet forests, but at
this time of year when the Mountain Correa has finished flowering, unless the
Crescents are moving about in the flowering mistletoe, I can hardly ever see
them. They call loudly and incessantly from somewhere high in the tall
Mountain Ash trees at any time of day, but seem to remain almost motionless,
or are always on the other side of the trees from me! Did you have any
trouble seeing the Crescents at Mount Piddington?
Happy birding,
Merrilyn.
