I have pentax 8 by 40 wide angle binoculars which were not too
expensive and very clear optics. I was very happy with them for a number
of years until I dropped them into what appeared to me to be a very
small amount of water (barely rached to the lenses). Unfortunately it
was quite muddy water. Now I've got patches of film between both prisms
- presumably sediment or could it be oil from the threads of the
lenses?? I've rinsed them with water, shellite and metho at various
times to no avail - the film seems to stay- just keeps moving around.
Has anyone any idea what to clean binoculars succesfully with??
We are going to Tasmania over christmas - can anyone recommend some good
birding places??
