3 spotted whistling duck were observed for approx 1 hour on a paperbark
lagoon behind Chilli Beach in Iron Range N.P. on 22/10/00. It seems that
they have indeed reached the East Coast.
We had noticed the park ranger at a fawn-breasted bowerbird bower nearby
and she was able to confirm the sighting. A report on a fantastic week in
Iron Range NP will be posted soon - we were caught by rain and took a few
days to get out

                     Kind Regards,

                                  Kevin Holwell
