We once bought a house with a garden of glorious shrubs, no snails, many
blackbirds. Our cat moved in with us.The blackbirds vanished, the snails
returned in plague proportions.
The cat died, blackbirds returned, and we now cover seedlings with fine
black birdnet, remove it when the seedlings grow. Still have a few snails,
but they are not a problem.
                                     Cheers
                                              Michael & Penny Hunter
