Have seen Blackbirds in gardens as far west as Broken Hill in NSW (they may have had to cross stretches of arid blue bush/salt bush plains to get there). In Mitchell Park at Cattai (about 60 km NW of Sydney) in the Rainforest Gully, have seen them there where I usually find Bassian Thrush at times. I have not seen any Bassian Thrush there these 2 past winters. Maybe they have been competed out by the Blackbirds there!

Quite common along with Red-whiskered Bulbuls at Prospect Reservoir last weekend, where there is alot of scrubby introduced thickets for both species.
