Hi all, had a quick zip around Penrice Saltfields today (Sun 10/9) and am
very pleased to report that hundreds and hundreds (maybe thousands) of
Banded Stilts have returned from the north. By far the majority of them
were juveniles, with approx 30% adults. There was one thing odd about their
reappearance though. For years thousands of these stilts have invariably
occupied the same evaporation pan, but today they were in quite a different
location some 3km north of their usual spot. Any ideas?
Tony.
