Vella:

Were the Peregrines hunting pigeons and Prions over water?  Did they hit the birds?  If so, what happened next?

Cheers, Jim

What I forgot to mention, was that a pair of Peregrine Falcons were in pursuit of a single Feral Pigeon upto atleast 3 km out at sea which was quite amazing. At this time of the year, they can be seen catching Prions out at sea, which we have witnessed over the last couple of years. Rod said that he had not seen these Peregrines for quite some time. Good to see that they are still around.

Although, we had scopes, one could still have great views of all the birds (the Albatross, Prions, Diving Petrels and the Arctic Tern) even with a 8 x 40 binoculars.

Thanks Rod and Lorne for making it a superb morning.

Edwin
