Hugo is right - while Newhaven and Gluepot are exciting it is really essential that HANZAB is adequately funded through to the finish - which is not long now after all

It is really hard to get sponsorship for works of scholarship and major reference works, but they are the basis for future advances in our understanding of our birds and their needs. It is relatively easier (it's all relative, it's never easy!) to get outside sponsorship for new exciting projects but we the people who care about birds are probably still the best bet for solid longterm projects like HANZAB

Last night the Vicgroup of Birds Australia decided to sponsor 4 of these birds (4 more- we've sponsored some already)

I urge you to send a (tax deductable) donation to this good cause!

Margaret

Hi everybody -

Many of you will remember my plea regarding sponsorship of bird species for
Volume 4 of the Handbook of Australian, New Zealand and Antarctic Birds
about a couple of years. Your response was very much appreciated.

......[there are still birds which languish without sponsorship]
