Peter and Birding-Ausers,

Few avian frugivores regularly consume unripe fruits.  Those that do eat unripe fruits are usually seed predators.  I've seen Brown Cuckoo-doves eating unripe Large-leaved Privet fruits.  Despite several years of detailed observations of birds feeding on Camphor Laurel fruits, I've never seen any bird species feeding on unripe fruits of this species.  However, I've been told that King Parrots occasionally consume the unripe fruits of Camphor Laurel.  The parrots were extracting the seeds and discarding the pulp.
