On the subject of common sandpipers, besides seeing them on the canals
near the conservation ponds at Werribbee and once on similar canals at
Pakenham sewage works [with Graham Beal], they wre in some numbers in
Darwin near East Point in January. I found them along the cliffs there
and almost ran over them along the bike track that provides great views
near the coast.
