Thanks for your reply and kind offer.
I do have a copy of  Landsborough Thompson (1964) and
have read his "Feather Maintenance" article.
 
Campbell and Lack's "A Dictionary of Birds"(Poyser/1985)
 has  similiar articles headed "Anting" and another "Comfort
 Behaviour"
 
The "Anting" article states Between 200 and 250 species of
passerine birds......have been recorded using ants....
 
But what I was specifically seeking was a list of Birds that
have been observed anting (in Australia)
 
I wonder if anyone has compiled such a list ?
