Thanks to all who responded.  I'll need to check with the other
observers but from Mike Owen's information, including the
pictures on the web site he mentioned,  it seems to me that the
bird currently around Beaumaris is a small Alexandrine Parrot
(perhaps with a touch of Ring-necked Parakeet).

I reckon the 1996 bird was probably the same species even though
I, and others, did not see the pink-red wing patch. I would have
discarded the possibility of an Alexandrine Parrot when going
through Forshaw's "Parrots of the World"  because of the length
it states for the species.

Back to the politics.
