Hello all,

In regards to the inner-Melbourne Painted Button-quail record as reported by
Paul Peak.

Apparently in 1976 I think (bit hard to remember seeing as I would have been 1
year old!!), a Plains Wanderer was seen walking the streets of Bendigo. The
bird was picked-up by a local field naturalist in King Street, outside Target.
Perhaps taking advantage of a 15% off sale??

The closest known Plains-Wanderers to Bendigo occur on the Terrick Terrick
grasslands near Mitiamo.
