The latter part (ie Spring-Summer) of 1999 certainly seemed to be a bumper period for Black & Pied Honeyeaters with numerous records posted on birding-aus. On 28/12/99 we located 6 Pied Honeyeaters in Mallee at Boundary Road, Murry Bridge Range (about 25 km from Murray Bridge, SA). This appears to be one the closest records to Adelaide. Boundary Road was alive with "inland" birds - Budgerigars, White-winged Trillers and White-browed and Masked Woodswallows etc. Bob Sothman & Rolly Lloyd
