We live in a very LARGE State, of all the teams that participated in this
years Twitch I think we covered the least kilometres (450 kl) do you wish
us to travel to Cairns (400 kl) or Brisbane (1500 kl) to compete and burn
all that extra fuel?
The point is we got the most species in the country and all within a 100 kl
radius of Townsville, Australia's best kept birdwatching secret.

By the way we are not claiming the record, just the best score this year.

G'day Ian
I am well aware of the very good reasons why the compulsory finish line
system only works in small areas like Vic and Tas.
Hence my admission that I wasn't being entirely serious, just reminding
David that the counts are not directly comparable.

Your total of 234 within a 100 km radius is amazing. You saw significantly
more species and travelled about half the
distance that Vic teams had to travel - obviously an extremely expert team
with detailed knowledge of your highly productive and diverse patch.

Congratulations!
