Just the other morning Lord Jim had a lady turkey vigorously scratching
away on his mound, but for once his eminance was nowhere to be seen.
Normally Lord Jim is on his mound shortly after dawn, adjusting the
climate control, but on this morning he must have either been recovering
from a big night or engaged in aldermanic duties elsewhere.
Another turkey showed up and was engaged in a short and sharp debate as
to which should have possession of the mound, before visitor 1 tarred
and feathered visitor 2 and chased it up a tree.
Lord Jim finally turned up as the lady turkey finished her excavation
and was lying down in the hole - presumably to lay her egg.
So for once, Lord Jim didn't get to supervise the alterations to his
town hall. As is the case with most things in a turkey's life, timing
is everything.
Regards, Laurie.
