Continuing the commensal feeding theme...

Last Tuesday (17 August, 15:20h) I was driving down an inner suburban
street in Canberra and saw a very mixed flock of about a dozen Crimson
Rosellas, two eastern Rosellas, one Sulphur-crested Cockatoo, eight Galahs,
and four Australian King Parrots feasting on the fallen acorns from the
street trees. Large flocks of galahs and cockatoos feasting on acorns are a
fairly common sight in Canberra at the right time of year, but I don't
recall ever seeing quite the diversity of this mixed group.

Furthermore, and the point of this message, there were also three Rock
Doves (feral pigeons) participating in the party. This I have definitely
not seen before and I can only assume that they were picking up the
"crumbs" left by the various parrots.

Harvey
