Sea Conditions: Slight swell to 1 1/2 metres.

Water temperature 17.9 to 19.2 degrees C.

Summary,
Another pleasant trip, although a broken waterpump impellor just
outside Sydney heads caused a few eyebrows to raise. This resulted
in a detour back to sheltered waters near Manly to conduct repairs,
this was done and an hour or so later we were on our way out to sea.
Moored close inshore a few land birds could be heard or seen to add
to the days tally including: Red Wattlebird, Little Wattled,
Sulpher-crested Cockatoo, Rainbow Lorrikeet, White-browed Scrub Wren,
Australian Magpie, Pied Currawong, New Holland Honeyeater, Peregrine
Falcon and White-breasted Sea Eagle. At sea the species list was
more in tune with a typical August trip. No major rarities but
brilliant views of White-headed Petrel and plenty of albatross
provided the many visitors on board with good opportunities for
photography and for most lifers. One bird was seen that may well
have been a FULMAR but the views were too bad to be certain and will
go in my note-book as a bird of untickable views.
