Enough has been said about the painful, long lasting effects of the stinging tree but there is a cure. Last time I was stung fairly badly by brushing up against a stinging tree in Nth Qld I swabbed the affected area with very dilute hydrochloric acid. Even though this was 4 or 5 hours after the event, the next day all signs of pain had gone and there was no recurrence. Try it. It works. Jo Wieneke.
