Hi,

A snippet on profane parrots. In the late 1980's, Healesville Sanctuary had
a large aviary, off-limits to the public, which only contained cursing
cockatoos. Apparently they had been donated to the sanctuary in dribs and
drabs by a lot of different people, and had originally been on display; they
were taken off display because members of the public complained about the
rude things that they said. I don't know if this aviary is still in use; the
sanctuary considered the birds a nuisance, as they couldn't be shown to the
public and weren't very suitable for breeding (the wrong mix of birds: two
male Gang-Gang Cockatoos, three Sulphur-Cresteds, that kind of thing).
