Re Swallow problems
I was at a Defence Force Seminar last week in Cairns and during the day we
visited the Navy base at Trinity Inlet.
In their totally covered dry dock facility - open at both ends and the size
of a large jumbo jet hanger, they had a number of owl statues positioned at
either entrance - high up. When questioned about these the officer said
they were extremely successful at keeping the building free of all birds -
and certainly there were none in there when I was there - and there were
Welcome Swallows flying about outside.
It's worth a try _ the statues were life-size (1 ft. in the old money!). If
owls don't work, try a hawk!
