A footnote to Susan Knowles response. I also heard that there were dead birds in Centennial Park, from a friend who asked some workers clearing up the debris. They told him they'd found about 60 corpses of birds, as well as some (presumably brush-tailed) possums. Again, he had little information as to species involved. However, the crakes at Maroubra seem to have survived okay. Rod Gardner > Hi ... At a meeting tonight about other matters I was asked where >all the birds went during the recent Sydney hailstorm and why were there >no corpses. I am not sure ... any ideas?
