Eden NSW Pelagic Trip Report Sunday 18th April 1999
Information supplied by Eric Andrew and John Henry.

Departed 8am.   Returned 4.30pm.  Went out to 26 miles.
Swell 2m.   Winds light.   Sky clear.
Water temp: 20.3 degrees C.    Air temp: 23 degrees C.

Observers:
Eric Andrew, David Webb, Bill Hetherington, Grahame Clark, Nicola Clark, Tim Kastelle and Nancy Pachana (visitors from NZ) Barry Martin, Brenda Martin, Margaret Ronaldson, Peter Ronaldson, Manfred Noether and skipper John Henry.

A great improvement on the March trip which was rather quiet.  New for the Eden list were Campbell Albatross and White-headed Petrel.  Most of the birds were just inside the shelf line in excess of 200 fathoms.  Some storm-petrels, albatross and jaegers were close inshore.
The two Eastern Reef Egrets were at 17 miles.  One Cattle Egret was on the breakwater at Eden Wharf.  ( Cattle Egrets are starting to reappear, as is usual in Autumn in this district and one was sharing rocks with Silver Gulls at a nearby boat ramp on April 16.)
