Hello Birders

I was very disappointed with the amount of beach washed rubbish
and rubbish in general on my recent visit to the UK.  Not the England
I remember as a young man 30 years ago.

Their was one thing that compensated for the rubbish, no not the weather
but the birds I managed 115 species in 20 days in cold, dark and damp
conditions.  Best birds being Bittern several good sightings, Bearded Tit
Dipper, got a look at the first sighting of a Cattle Egret in Lancashire and
many more good birds.

Regards

Ian Clayton

To a man ornithologists are tall, slender, and bearded, so
that they can stand motionless for hours, imitating kindly
trees, as they watch for birds.
