On Sunday afternoon I saw a Freckled Duck at Lake Borrie, sitting on a log
near Paradise Road. It may be common knowledge that the species is present
(don't know how many as didn't search the whole lake), but I was surprised
to see it as many inland birds had disappeared (e.g. Whiskered Terns
vanished and Hardhead scarce). On the other hand, there were still plenty
of Pink-eared Ducks at Paradise Road ponds.

One of the Glossy Ibis at Paradise Road had the juvenile head marking
(white line from eye over head: see HANZAB) and bright green gloss of adult
on wings.
