Thanks to everyone who replied and set me straight.  I certainly have a red face, and will never be ignorant of that fact again.  However, somewhere, the figure of 1200 is associated with birds, could be it the number of families?
 
However, for those who know Neil Strode, I am sure he will enjoy his  bottle of wine (cabernet shiraz) over the QOSI camp out this weekend.  I might be able to get a glass off him.
