Having trouble identifying that duck you saw? The Department of Natural
Resources and Environment (Melbourne, Australia) has made available the
1988 publication "A guide to Australian Waterfowl" at its web address:

       http://www.nre.vic.gov.au/plntanml/native/waterfowl/index.htm

The pages include: distribution, flight shape, appearance on the water and
head and wing appearance.

The site also gives details about duck hunting in Victoria.
