I wonder what the electronic age will bring.  People who play "sports"
are now paid enormous sums simply because their activities are broadcast
throughout the world and a very small contribution per viewer adds up to
a huge amount. 

What is the potential (especially with the advent of digital TV - huge
bandwidth but hungry for content) for electronic tourism ? What is its
cost (financial and ecological) ?  

Maybe in a few years we (the OECD countries) will be able to remit
automatically lots of dollars to third world countries who have
something interesting to show about micro-organisms to top predators -
like birds (and people!).

Don't forget that in a few decades that globally petrol supplies will be
enough to get the average car to the supermarket and back per day.
