I also saw then on Mount Elizabeth Station.  Spent 10 glorious days in
there in 1983.  We almost had to kick the Black Grass-wrens aside to see
all the other wonderful birds.  Seriously, they were pretty common at the
site where we camped.  Don't ask, its all a fading memory now.  I do,
however, remember sleeping under a sheet of black plastic with Jane Miller
and David Turner (plus several scorpions) under a tree that we discovered
(on the first evening) had a resident pair of very noisy Barking Owls.

Highlights, from memory. included the grass-wrens, nesting W-Q Rock Pigeon,
hundreds of pigeons (including Yellow-faced Partridge) walking to water
each evening, Chestnut-backed B-quail, White-lined Honeyeater, the rock art
and sinking into the lovely cool water periodically throughout the day and
watching Black Bitterns.
