Alexandra Appleman is concerned about the removal of the rainbow lorikeet
roost and its replacement with palms at the Flinders Mall McDonalds in
Townsville. No worries, Alex. One night about 9 PM I ate there and the
lorikeets were chattering the night away. At one point they decided to do a
fly-round. Hundreds of lorikeets emerged into the still night air in wave
after wave providing those on the mall with an impressive sight. It might
be interesting to know how such a suitable habitat was provided for these
birds. Luck? Consultations with experts? Is McDonalds responsible?
