This has all the earmarks of a classic Email chain-letter spam.  Who is the
kid whose brother is supposedly dying of meningitis?  Do you have a name,
address where the person can be contacted etc? Where did the message
originate?  How do you know it is genuine?  If you can't answer these
questions, then the message is probably a hoax.  Luckily, in this instance
it's a harmless joke.

It is considered poor Netiquette to clutter mailing lists with this type of
thing, because unfortunately, in nearly every case, the message is a hoax. 
Some ISPs will act to suspend the accounts of persons who forward hoax
chain letters, so please be extra-cautious before forwarding ANYTHING which
tells you to send it to as many people as possible.
