 Hello Syd and all,

I am afraid the only further information I can add is of a general nature
but I have the same association as yourself as regards Pied Currawongs and
wet weather.
As children we called them Storm Birds and considered these outbreaks of
calling were a "sure sign" of coming rain .Indeed, the last concert took
place in June of this year, it was coincidentally followed by a very wet

I believe the ABC is to show a documentary some evening next week which
deals with the Currawong as a suburban bird, which should be very
interesting to suburban birdoes like myself--- as I write I can hear a
Currawong calling his ", currawong ,currawong,
currawong" on a WET, cold day in StIves.
