It seems that my wife can get a temporary transfer with the bureaucracy to
Alice for 8 weeks, starting soon (yipeee!).

Of course I've got Bransbury and Thomas and Thomas and so know about the all
the usual sites around Alice, however what I'd like to know is:

1. What's happened about rain in that part of the world, has it been
drought-stricken or just normal? Has there been rain recently, or is it more
likely to fall over winter?

2. Any recent sightings of things like Flock Bronzewing, Letter-winged Kite
&c (we'd probably return via the Barkly Highway, Mt Isa, Longreach, Sturt).

3. Does the western desert spp of Grey Fantail (lots of white in tail) get
anywhere near Alice?

Thanks in advance
