Crested Pigeons are also spreading rapidly in South-East Melbourne.

I've heard rumours they originate from a release of birds at Dingley or
Braeside about 10 years ago.  Can anyone provide more information on
their origin ?

Also, what ecological impact do they have ? There is some overlap in
their feeding with our uncommon Common Bronzewings but I guess they
compete mainly with Spotted Turtle Doves and Eastern Rosellas,
especially on sown grass and other seeds on golf courses.
