At the risk of re-starting a nasty thread, a very brief report on the
Plainswandering trip at Deniliquin, NSW, on the weekend just gone.

This time we were treated to quality rather than quantity (with the
exception of the food which was an unqualified success in both areas).
Very brief highlights:

(1) About 45 Inland Dotterels moving about in a loose flock on near
Hay;
(2)  Some Orange Chats and Australian Pratincoles in the same area;
(3) Baillon's and Spotted Crakes plus Little Bittern, with Spotless
Crake calling, near Deniliquin;
(4) Great views of Superb Parrot and Gilbert's Whistler at Gulpa
Island;
(5) A spectacular female Plains-wanderer on the Hay Plain.

Thanks to Phil & Patricia Maher for another great Plainswandering
weekend (last of the catered ones - so tough luck for those who haven't
experienced that yet!!).
