Morning all, I've just returned from the Princess Parrot. Many thanks to all who responded with information on Banded Fruit-doves, although in the end I didn't have time to visit Kakadu and got stranded in Halls Creek for a day (not recommended). Briefly, we had a great trip with lots of birds (53 spp between Billiluna and Well 39) including Grey Falcon and zillions of Pied Honeyeaters. The INTERESTING thing was the almost complete lack of Princess Parrots and I would like to hear from anyone who has seen them recently, ie in the last five years or since Mike Carter's write up in Wingspan. All records gratefully received and will be acknowledged when I write up the trip. Many thanks, David Andrew |
