We've just had the first rain in Canberra in a long time, and the birds are enjoying it. On a walk to the local shop my husband just spotted a white faced heron on a neighbour's roof. Ten minutes after getting home we found our 'free range' budgie sitting on the windowsill talking through the window to young king parrot, their beaks touching against the glass!
