WOLLONGONG, NSW PELAGIC TRIP REPORT 22nd June 1997

Trip Summary:
A typical quiet June trip, with very pleasant calm conditions throughout the
day. Great opportunities for photographing Yellow-nosed Albatross & Great
Skua and Our First Wandering Albatross for the season (all gibsoni). We
headed out well beyond the shelf reaching 27nm east of Wollongong Harbour.
A few good sized Albacore Tuna were caught on the way back as an added
bonus. The Hump-backed Whales seen only a few days earlier could not be
found. No doubt the high count of Little Penguins was due to the very calm
conditions.

Conditions:
Fine and cool.
Water temperature 17.5C once beyond the shelf.
Departed at 7.00 am and returned at 4.30 pm.
less than 1.0 metre swell.
Winds very slight, West - Under 5 knots

Those on Board:
Chris Brandis, Shaun Dooley, Ron Insidis, Pete Milburn, Tony Palliser,
Linday Smith and Andrew Stafford.
