Following a request from a BIRDING-AUS subscriber to post the full text of
the advertisement for a new Director for Birds Australia:

CHIEF EXECUTIVE

Australia'a leading bird research and conservation organisation, with 6,000
committed members and donors and an overall budget of $3 million, seeks a
new Chief Executive. After five years of unprecedented growth and change,
Birds Australia is well positioned with excellent Australian headquarters, a
wide-ranging research involvement and challenging new projects, to move
forward into a new era.

Birds Australia is a not-for-profit organisation and manages its affairs in
a business like way. We are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic
leader with proven business management skills. Expressions of interest are
sought from experienced managers who have successfully led the operational
and financial aspects of organisations with a broad community reach which
have a recognised reputation for their excellence. A developed interest in
the fields of research and conservation will be well regarded.

Written applications, marked "confidential", should be addressed to the
President, Mr Brian Snape, Birds Australia, 415 Riversdale Road, Hawthorn
East, Vic.3123.

Cheers, Hugo.

Hugo Phillipps,
