     Highlights in New South Wales over the last few weeks (whilst I was away on
     holiday) have been as follows:

     RUFOUS NIGHT HERON 7 Mitchell Park, Cattai 30/4
     PAINTED BUTTON QUAIL       4 Mitchell Park, Cattai 30/4, 1 Munmorah
                                State Rec. Area 18/4
     COMB-CRESTED JACANA        1 Richmondvale, Central Coast 20/4
     OSPREY             2 Narabeen Lake, Sydney 29/4 - were displaying
     PACIFIC BAZA       3 Cumberland S.F. 19/4, 1 Lisarow 17/4, 1
                        McMaster's Beach 17/4
     JAPANESE SNIPE     1 Mill POnds, Botany 7/4
     PACIFIC GOLDEN PLOVER      4 Long Reef 21/4
     DOUBLE-BANDED PLOVER       20 Long Reef, Sydney 21/4
     PECTORAL SANDPIPER 1 McGrath's Hill, Windsor 13/4
     GREENSHANK         4 Bicentennila Park, Sydney 6/4
     POWERFUL OWL       1 Mitchel Park, Cattai 27/4
     BARN OWL           1 Dural, Sydney 13/4
     SOOTY OWL          1 Jenolan Caves, Blue Mountains 9/4
     BARKING OWL        1 Glen Alice, Capertee Valley 2/4
     GANG GANG COCKATOO 50 Watagan Mountains 26/4
     SWIFT PARROT       1 Morisset, Central Coast 26/4, 3 Bensville,
                        Central Coast 29/4, 3 Annangrove, Sydney 27/4, 21
                        Roselands, Sydney 8/4, 1 Boonoo Nat. Park,
                        Tenterfield 28/3
     ROSE-CROWNED FRUIT DOVE    1 Wandolin, Central Coast 6/4
     SUPERB FRUIT DOVE  1 Ramsgate 9/4, 1 Winston Hills 28/3 - both Sydney
                        and both were birds colliding with windows
     KOEL               1 Tuggerah, Central Coast 19/4
     WHITE-THROATED NEEDLETAIL  1000 Braidwood 6/4
     SOUTHERN LOGRUNNER 2 Bulli Pass, Illawarra 3/4
     SCARLET ROBIN      2 Kurrajong Heights, Blue Mountains 20/4
     ROSE ROBIN         many individulas reported throughout the Sydney
                        basin in April as they return for Winter.
     RUFOUS FANTAIL     1 Centennial Park, Sydney 16/4
     BEAUTIFUL FIRETAIL 1 Yengo Nat. Park 18/4
     SPANGLED DRONGO    1 Mitchell Park, Cattai 30/4


     In addition many raptors are curretly present in the Richmond/Windsor
     area.  Please ensure all Swift Parrot and Regent Honeyeater sitings
     are recorded.
