Dear Stewart, Rottnest is certainly one of the best places to see naturalised birds such as the Peafowl and Ring-necked Pheasant. There are usually a wide range of passerines and non-passerines such as the rock-parrots mentioned by Shane. There is usually a good selection of waders to be seen in the pink lake near Government house, and of course a range of seabirds to be seen around the island. The book mentioned by Stephen is well worth getting and is usually available in Dymocks and Angus and Robertson stores in Perth, and if not , will certainly be available from The WA museum bookshop. Happy birding! ****************************************** Robert Davis Honours Student School of Biological and Environmental Sciences Murdoch University Perth WA E-mail : PH: (09) 354 1719 ****************************************** |
