Hello All, Has anyone noticed a boom in the population of Magpie-Larks lately? Usually I will see Fork-tailed Kites and Common Mynas every day of the year, but in the past few months I see at least a dozen every day in right across Townsville. Prior to this 1-2 a week was about the norm. Is this surge in population happening anywhere else? The other interesting thing I've noticed lately is that the Double-barred Finch population around the university is flourishing to the detriment of the Spice Finch population. Good to see a local species taking territory from an introduced one. Rafael ================================================= |
