Dear all,
With our last paper about identity coding in zebra finch vocalizations that just came out today in Nature Communications, Frederic and I decided to take this opportunity to let you know that our database of calls is now freely available along with
the python object Biosound to analyse vocalizations.
Link to the database:
Links to the Github repositories containing the Biosound and the tutorials on how to use it:
And finally here are the two papers that used the database and the Biosound. You will see that we now have a nice understanding of how zebra finches encode information in all their vocalizations!
Elie & Theunissen, 2016 Animal Cognition. The vocal repertoire of the domesticated zebra finch: a data-driven approach to decipher the information-bearing features
of communication signals.
Elie & Theunissen, 2018 Nature Communications. Zebra finches identify individuals using vocal signatures unique to each call type.
Feel free to contact us with any questions!
Best wishes,
Julie and Frederic
