Dear all, I would like to draw your attention to this BBC news article which may have escaped many people's attention due to its title "New state of matter seen on cheap". http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-15876145 It gives a further fascinating insight into how snapping shrimp take advantage of physics to create their "snap", the dominant noise on most reefs around the world. Kind regards, Julius Piercy PhD Marine Biology candidate Department of Biological Sciences University of Essex Colchester, CO4 3SQ, UK |
