There are a couple of field recorders that support sample rates of 96 kHz for both recording and playback: M-Audio MicroTrack 24/96 Tascam HD-P2 Marantz PMD 671 Fostex FR-2 Sound Devices 722/702 More details can be found at http://www.avisoft.com/tutorial_field_recording.htm.
