Call for Papers and Registration
12th Australasian Bat Society Conference

Registration and papers on any topic of bat biology are invited for the 12th
Australasian Bat Society Conference, hosted and sponsored by the School of
Biological sciences, University of Auckland. Papers may be in the form of a
spoken presentation or a poster. We hope that people from a wide range of
backgrounds will attend this conference. Anyone with an interest in bats is
welcome to attend.

The conference runs from Wednesday 19 to Friday 21 April 2006, with a welcoming
function on the evening of Tuesday 18 April.
Two post-conference field trips are planned. The first is a three-night trip
(22-25 April) to Pureora Forest (central North Island) to see New Zealand's two
endemic species of bat, the New Zealand Short-tailed Bat (Mystacina
tuberculata) and New Zealand Long-tailed Bat (Chalinolobus tuberculatus). The
second field trip is a day-trip (22 April) to Tiritiri Matangi Island, a nature
reserve and bird sanctuary off the coast of Auckland.
