audiophile point of view seriously compromised by bad quality mic preamps etc. and would not be used by professional sound recordists, and although recordings may be of sufficient quality for analysis there are significantly better products being developed for the broadcast industry (significantly more expensive to!). Please check out HHB portadrive, Sound devices 744, Core audio PD system, Sony DMX P-01 (digital mixer), Fostex PD6, Nagra V, Deva and Aaton. This is a comprehensive list of all the high end audio acquisition devices/manufacturers on the market or coming to market at the moment all will opperate at 24bit 96kHz some beyond and they hit various price points.
