    Dear friends,<br>
  The Center for Sound Communication in Odense, Denmark is offering a graduate 
 course in acoustic communication from August 10th to August 19th, 2003. The 
 emphasis is on&nbsp; methodological problems encountered when studying animal 
sound
 communication in air (including the sonic, infra-sonic and ultra-sonic ranges
 and air-currents), in water, and in solids. The course includes lectures, 
 practicals and excursions with time for discussion. Introductory lectures 
 aim at giving an overwiew of the area of acoustic communication followed by
 lectures on the fundamentals of acoustics and signal analysis. Special emphasis
 will be on equipment and methods used at CSC, such as laser vibrometry and
 laser anemometry, psychophysical methods, and underwater sound recording and
 localization. Teachers include H. R&ouml;mer (U. Graz, A), R. Dooling, M.

 and A. Popper (U. of Maryland, US), M. Leek (Reed Army MC, US), D. Helweg
